What is Heartgard Plus?
Heartgard Plus Chewables is a monthly meaty chew used for the prevention of heartworm disease and for the control of roundworms and hookworms in dogs.

How it works:
Heartgard Plus contains ivermectin, a broad-spectrum antiparasitic medication used to prevent heartworms. Heartgard Plus also contains Pyrantel Pamoate, an anthelminthic, used to prevent roundworms and hookworms.

Directions for Use
Heartgard (Ivermectin) is given once a month year round for the prevention of heartworm disease. The usual dose of ivermectin in dogs up to 25 lb is 68mcg – 1 tablet from blue pack, for 26-50 lb is 136mcg – 1 tablet from green pack and for 51-100 lb is 272mcg – 1 tablet from brown pack. Dogs over 100 lb are given a combination of the tablets.
Cautions
This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it. Heartworm testing should be performed prior to the start of prevention therapy. If the animal is off ivermectin for 6 months or less, start the medication and test after 6 months since microfilaria, which take 6 months to mature, may result in a positive test result.
Possible Side Effects
The side effects of ivermectin are rare at the recommended dosage. Heartgard Tablets has a wide margin of safety for all sizes and breeds of dogs. It is approved for use in puppies as young as 6 weeks, small dogs regardless of weight, pregnant or breeding bitches, stud dogs, and Collies.

Plan ahead if you're in the US

It seemed too good to be true, but I have absolutely no complaints so far. I ordered Heartgard here twice; first time it took over 3 weeks to arrive, 2nd time less than a week! I recommend this business every chance i get, but I just make sure to mention that it's best to order it a month before you run out. The shipping speed is understandably variable.

Great product
I have ordered this product for my lab several times. She loves the chewable and it is alot less expensive than other pet stores or my vet. We have always had a negative testing on the heartworm and I will continue to order from Discount Pet.

My Huskies Like It
I’ve been using Heartguard for years. It does appeal to my huskies so they chew the cake like pill and they don’t have any side effects. I feel like they are protected and their heart worm test is always negative, so I will continue to use the product. I like these better than pills and the price I pay from Entirely Pets can’t be beat.
