Capstar, the fast acting flea knockdown
Capstar™ offers rapid and effective relief from adult fleas and should be used anytime you find fleas on your cat or dog. Delivered in a small tablet Capstar™ won’t rub or wash off, leaving no pesticide residue on your pet. Capstar™ is widely used by dermatologists to treat flea allergy dermatitis, reducing the number of flea bites experienced by the animal. Capstar™ has a rapid action - killing fleas within 30 minutes and continues to rapidly kill fleas for at least 24 hours.
Important Safety Information
Capstar™ is safe to use in puppies and kittens from 4 weeks of age and 500g bodyweight, and in pregnant bitches and queens.
Active Ingredients
Nitenpyram, the active ingredient in Capstar™, belongs to the chemical class of neonicotinoids which bind and inhibit insect (flea) specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
Nitenpyram interferes with normal nerve transmission and leads to the death of the insect (flea).
Nitenpyram does not inhibit acetylcholinesterase.
Directions For Use
Treatment can begin on any day when fleas are seen on the animal, and repeated on any subsequent day fleas are seen.
Dosage

| 25.1-125 lbs | Give 1 tablet (57 mg) |
| Over 125 lbs | Give appropriate combination of tablets |
Capstar™ should be given orally, with or without food. No more than one treatment should be given per day.
If a continuous flea infestation is observed after using Capstar™, the attending veterinarian should be consulted for further advice.

It is difficult for my cat to give usual preparations for fleas in the form of sprays, drops, especially injections. And I mask the pill for him in a quiet and peaceful way. The cat is white and I don’t see fleas, and the cat doesn’t scratch anything. I am happy with this tool.

Capstar
This product works great when there is a need to rid the animal of fleas quickly. Although it does not continue to kill the fleas as the traditional flea meds do, I use it for emergency situations and it works great treating one day at a time until I am able to treat with the regular monthly flea meds.
